ADA, Okla. – Sixty years after its original release, the classic film “Oklahoma!” is coming to the McSwain Theatre for two special screenings, 2 p.m., and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.
Both screenings are free and open to the public.
Digitally remastered to a widescreen version in 2014, this 1955 cinema classic starring Shirley Jones and Gordon MacRae tells the pioneer story of people wanting to settle in the Oklahoma Territory.
Based on the 1943 Rodgers and Hammerstein stage musical, “Oklahoma!” features a classic score including “Oh What A Beautiful Morning,” “The Surrey with the Fringe on Top,” and “Oklahoma!”
During the McSwain screening movie-goers will receive a souvenir Moviebill.
Owned and operated by the Chickasaw Nation, the McSwain Theatre is located at 130 W. Main in Ada.
