McSwain Theatre’s “Top 5” Grand Awards Show Winners Featured Sept. 19

ADA, Okla. – The McSwain Theatre audience has selected its “Top 5” entertainers in the Grand Awards Show series and will determine the overall winners during the Grand Awards Show “Top 5 Show” semifinals 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept.19.

This semifinal competition of the Grand Award Show series showcases the top-5 contestants, previously selected by audience vote, in 5 categories: Gospel, Group, Male, Female and “16-and-Under” performer.

Jae L. Stilwell and the Crossover band will serve as hosts of the evening.

Talented vocalists selected as “Top 5 -16 and Under” include: Macy Blackburn, Stratford;  Macy Edwards, Tom Bean, Texas;  Darci Farmer, Oklahoma City; Britney Rodgers, Broken Arrow; and Maddox Ross, Choctaw.

Top 5 Group” finalists include: “Keeping it Country,” Ada and Runaway Bay, Texas; Ashleigh and Suzanne McCoy, Mustang; “Red River,” Ada; Wiley Winters and Missy Rude, Paoli and Pauls Valley; Anne Young and Donna Marie, Richardson, Texas and Ada.

Top 5 Gospel” acts scheduled to perform include: Mark Byers, Deborah Butcher, April Davis, Clancy Davis and Ken Hancock, all of Ada and Darlin’ Darla, Oklahoma City.

Top 5 Male” winners Clancy Davis, Ada;  Wayne Gibbs, Konawa; Kolton Hall, Bonham, Texas; Ethan Stedman, Ardmore and Wylie Winters, Pauls Valley; are also scheduled to perform during the Top 5 show.

Top 5 Female” winners slated to compete include: Lela Dalby, Anadarko; April Davis, Teagan Tulley Vick, both of Ada;  Cathy Lake, Runaway Bay, Texas; and Anne Young, Richardson, Texas.

Top winners in each category, as well as an Entertainer of the Year, will be crowned at the Grand Awards Show Saturday, Oct.17. A red-carpet entry for all finalists is planned for 6 p.m.

Tickets for the Grand Awards Show and the “Top 5” semifinal round are now available.

Each concert ticket includes an Awards Show ballot, allowing ticket-holders to vote for their five favorites as well as a write-in choice for Entertainer of the Year.

In addition to the Grand Awards Show; the historic McSwain Theatre hosts chart-topping entertainers, family shows, comedy acts, classic movies and children’s entertainment, solidifying the theatre’s established reputation as a premier destination for entertainment in south-central Oklahoma.

Upcoming shows include: Acclaimed recording artist Mandy Barnett’s “Patsy Cline Tribute,” Saturday, Oct. 10, and rising country group “Parmalee” Friday, Nov. 6. Both shows begin at 7 p.m. and tickets are now available.

According to their website, www.parmalee.com,“Parmalee” is scheduled to appear on the NBC “Today” Show Oct. 8 and on the MLB Network Oct. 9.
