ADA, Okla. -- It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas on Main Street and the McSwain Theatre is doing its part to bring joy to the world. The historic entertainment destination will greet the season with a special holiday Jae L. and Crossover show 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17.

Performers from around Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas will join Jae L. and the Crossover band on the historic downtown stage to offer classic holiday tunes. A famous figure from as far away as the North Pole is scheduled to make a visit.

Teagan Tully and Clancy Davis, both of Ada, will be among the vocalists to perform. Both have past ties to the McSwain stage.

Davis, cousin to country music great Blake Shelton, was the 2014 McSwain Theatre “Entertainer of the Year.” He won the title after performing in three separate categories during the Grand Awards Show.

Tully has competed in the McSwain Theatre Grand Awards Show in the female vocalist category and was also involved in past Christmas specials.

Wiley Winters and Missy Rude, both of Pauls Valley, will also join the lineup. Winters won top male vocalist during the 2013 and 2016 McSwain Theatre Grand Awards show competitions.

OK 3, a trio of young women from the Oklahoma City area, will take part in this year’s holiday special. Makenna Fields, Sierra Sikes and Courtney Hooker earned this year’s top place in the group category at the Grand Awards Show. The three have been playing music together for years as friends, but began performing professionally as a group just two years ago.

Billie Jo Sewell, of Lindale, Texas is a 2013 Texas Country Music Hall of Fame John Ritter Showcase winner. An instrumentalist and recording artist balancing her musical career with her role as mother to five children, she is slated to join in on this year’s festivities. Audience members may recognize her from the television show “The Voice.”

Nashville singer-songwriter Brennin Hunt, originally from Harrah, Oklahoma, is among the holiday performers. Hunt was a contestant on “The X Factor” and made guest appearances on television shows “Nashville” and “The Ellen Degeneres Show.”

“Jae L.’s Christmas Kids” have been a staple of the holiday special for years, a tradition maintained this year. The top vocalist for the McSwain band gathers and prepares young vocalists to open the show with “Jingle Bells.” The children will dress in Christmas morning attire. Jae L. said she believes their performance is an important opportunity for children to shine onstage. Her desire is to make their performance as special to them as they all are to her.

The McSwain Theatre, 130 W. Main Street, has been a part of the Ada downtown entertainment scene since 1920.
