ADA, Okla. – Competition preliminaries for the annual McSwain Theatre Grand Awards Show continue with the “Top 5” show, 7 p.m., Sept. 17, at the historic theater, located at 130 W. Main Street.
The Grand Awards Show offers local artists a stage, audience and a full band supporting them as they contend for crowd votes in a number of categories.
For September, the winners of previous preliminary rounds return to the stage in the hopes of claiming the No. 1 spot in their category. The performances on this evening will decide the ultimate winners for the Grand Awards Show. These performers will return in October, where category winners and the “Entertainer of the Year” will be announced.
The September show will be a packed showcase of the top five performers in each category, including: 16 and under, group, gospel, male and female.
Female vocalist finalists include: Anne Youth, Cathy Lake, Darlin Darla, April Davis and Haley Miller. Male vocalist finalists include: Ethan Stedman, Clancy Davis, Wiley Winters, Mark Byers and John Mike. Finalists in the 16 and under category include: Tanner Massey, Bella Brown, Taylor Renee, Calli Burns and Kaitlyn Daniels. For the Group category, finalists include: Anne Young and Donna Marie, Lela and Michael Dalby, Keeping It Country, Red River and Ok 3. Gospel finalists include: Clancy Davis, Donna Marie, Ken Hancock, April Davis and Stan Green.
Jae L. Stilwell and Crossover, known for their monthly show filled with live music and entertainment, will perform alongside competitors. With the conclusion of the Grand Awards Show, Jae L. and Crossover will continue performing on the third Saturday of each month at the McSwain.
