ADA, Okla. -- Preliminaries for the annual Grand Awards Show begin 7 p.m., July 16, at the historic McSwain Theatre on the corner of Broadway and Main.

The performance competition offers local artists a stage, audience and even a full band to back them up as they compete for audience votes in a number of categories.

July preliminaries will offer a full lineup of local performers in the 16 and under, group and gospel categories.

Five artists per category will advance to the next round. In August, the second preliminary will involve the male and female categories. The third show, in September, will have the top 5 in each category competing for first place within their category.

Winners in each category will be featured in the Grand Awards Show in October as they compete to be crowned overall winner.

Jae L. Stilwell and Crossover, known for their monthly show filled with live music and entertainment, will perform alongside competitors. After the Grand Awards Show, Jae L. and Crossover will continue performing on the third Saturday of each month at the McSwain Theatre, 130 W. Main St., Ada, Oklahoma.

Regular admission is $15, seniors receive a discounted $13 admission and tickets for children age 12 and under are $10. Special rates are available for groups of 15 or more. Call 580-332-8108 for more information.
