Holba' Kana'li Film Series features "The Dead Can't Dance" Oct. 20

The Chickasaw Nation Division of Arts and Humanities will present the zombie movie "The Dead Can't Dance" 2 and 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 at the McSwain Theatre in Ada, Okla.

The film revolves around three Native American men, who discover they are somehow immune to a mysterious plague that is turning everyone else into zombies.

The movie is directed by Rodrick Pocowatchit of Pawnee, Shawnee and Comanche tribes and was the winner of the best Native American film award during the 2011 Indie Spirit Film Festival in Colorado Springs.

The film is presented as part of the Holba' Kana'li Film Series, which showcases Native American-made independent films that address the issues of Native American and Indigenous peoples.

Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $3 for general admission, $2 for seniors and children under 12 years of age. A special $5 combo deal includes admission, popcorn and drink.
